What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is for young adults aged between 18 and 30. Rotaract offers you the opportunity to:

  • meet new people
  • help the local community
  • learn new things
Formed in 1968, Rotaract is an international organisation with over 173,000 members in over 7,000 clubs in 158 countries. There are currently eight clubs in London. This area - taking in North, West & Central London - is known as District 1130.

A key part of the Rotary family, Rotaract will help you develop your skills and knowledge while making a valuable contribution to your local community. Nationally and internationally too, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of projects - all proving that through Rotaract we can all really make a difference.

Our Activities

Recent events have included pub quizzes, a curry night, a canal boat trip, a visit to the Science Museum and a weekend away to Brighton.

A recent major community project was a partnership with the West London YMCA, giving the garden of one of their hostels a new lease of life. As well as raising funds for the project we are also getting our hands dirty, digging and planting flower beds and building a new summer house!

Meetings

We have club meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month in a local pub to discuss upcoming events and activities. The Club President chairs the meeting and the committee chairs run through events.

You can feel free to put your name down for any event you'd like to attend - it's a great way to meet club members. Have a chat with the event organiser so they know you plan to come along.

We also invite speakers to talk about an interesting topic of their choice at the meeting. We encourage members to tell us more about themselves too!!

Meetings take about an hour and are followed by a drink or two in the bar downstairs.
